Biblio
Metdata Schema
Introduction
A consistent problem in contemporary bibliographic solutions for scholars is less-than-ideal data models. Standard formats such as BibTeX, RIS and Refer were all created before the WWW and the wide use of electronic sources, and before the wide use of powerful relational modeling technologies such as RDF or relational databases.
The biblio vocabulary describes a general data model for scholarly citations. It covers three primary classes: events, agents, and bibliographic reference types. It is designed to offer a solid general relational model for citation metadata, and also to provide a specific superset of reference types in standard formats like BibTeX, RIS, and Refer. See here for more information and the schema.
